Courses Taught
I have taught a range of courses/classes that blend practical skills with strong creative thinking. Each class emphasizes project-based learning, real-world briefs, and constructive critique to prepare students for professional environments.
Design Foundations II (University of Central Oklahoma/UCO) - This course focuses on 2-dimensional design fundamentals used by graphic designers. Students learn to use the elements and principles of design to create abstract compositions.
Design Foundations IV (UCO) - This course uses the elements and principles of design to explore basic in-studio photography, digital layout, vector imagery, and culminates with the creation of a digital portfolio.
Graphic Design I (UCO) - This studio course is an in-depth introduction to graphic design with an emphasis on the development of meaningful concepts and creative problem solving.
Graphic Design II (UCO) - This is an advanced portfolio development studio course with emphasis on design projects in print design, logo creation, and brand research.
Advertising Design (UCO) - This is an advanced portfolio development studio course with emphasis on design projects in advertising design, formatting files for print, and delivering professional oral presentations.
Strength and Stretch (YMCA) - This class blends steady, muscle-building poses with deep, mindful stretching to create a balanced, full-body practice. Strength-focused sections are paired with longer stretches and calming poses to improve flexibility and release tension,.
