I am a multidisciplinary professional with over a decade of experience across creative leadership, higher education, and public health. I hold a BFA in Graphic Design and am currently pursuing an MS in Nutrition, along with a graduate certificate in Online Instruction Design. In addition to my academic background, I am a Certified Yoga Instructor, Gut Health Nutrition Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist.

I currently teach in the Design Department at the University of Central Oklahoma, where I instruct courses such as Advertising Design, Design Foundations, and Graphic Design I and II. My teaching approach emphasizes creative thinking, practical application, and thoughtful problem-solving.

Before my current role, I spent over five years in public health and served on the OCCHD Emergency Response Team during the COVID-19 pandemic. My work is guided by a holistic philosophy, integrating mindful practices, nutrition, creativity, and self-care to support lasting well-being. With a deep love for teaching, I aim to equip students with technical skills, knowledge, and innovative thinking they will continue to use long after graduation.

Teaching Philosophy

Teaching Philosophy

My goal as an educator is for students to feel engaged and motivated while gaining knowledge that will stay with them beyond graduation. I want students to build strong relationships with their classmates, develop confidence in their abilities, and enhance skills they can apply in their future careers.

To support these goals, I implement a variety of teaching strategies, including group activities, class discussions, independent reflections, hands-on projects, and informative videos. These methods encourage active participation, critical thinking, and deeper understanding of course material.
